I’ve been called out to two of these machines recently because they were very noisy.
On inspection I found that the sub frame was cracked where the suspension unit/damper is attached which was causing the noise.
Certainly seems like a design fault because the sub frame metal is quite thin and I’m wondering if perhaps Hotpoint have brought out a repair kit to rectify this issue?
I’ve managed to effect a repair by fabricating a steel plate to sit between the sub frame and damper to spread the load.not an unusual problem
new shocks do have a plate but does not really cure bad existing cracks
