ParticipantHi, as in the title my Zanussi washer has been fine up to last week. it has developed a fault which threw up the E10 code.
It is overfilling the drum by a huge amount and also the water is only coming in via the softener part of the dispenser drawer.
I have changed the pressure switch and the twin inlet valves but there is no change, I would think the next thing is the electronic control board but I am very open to suggestions and advice please.
Cheers

Moderatordid you check the pressure chamber and pressure hose for blockages and damage ?
Dave

ParticipantHi Dave, its certainly not blocked but no I haven’t checked that I will do that next, thank you.

ParticipantI couldn’t detect any damage to the hose or the pressure chamber although I wasn’t able to remove the chamber at this time.
I can understand the water level being determined by the pressure switch but that wouldn’t explain why the water was only entering by the softener part of the drawer and not by the detergent side as well, I’m obviously not an engineer but that bit doesn’t seem to have a connection to the pressure switch unless of course there is some interaction that I haven’t considered.February 26, 2022 at 7:38 pm #481369electrofix
Moderatorthere are 2 valves
one is wash valve and one pre wash valve
to get the fabric conditioner they fire both valves
so are both of your valves activated

ParticipantNo, both valves are not, only the one that goes to the conditioner side of the draw, I can see the water flow through the top of the drawer lid, I changed the valves because of this which I thought would be the initial problem, so it seems to me that there isn’t just one issue.

Moderatorso its the pre wash valve
if you cancel the programme does the valve stop letting in water or do you have to switch off machine ?
Dave

ParticipantThe water stops if I cancel the program.

Moderatoralso assume if you pause programme it stops too
well the only things left are pressure sw problem or board
you say you changed the pressure sw assume you have correct part as there are 12 machines with this model and they may use different parts
check wiring connections and integrity of the pressure sw harness

ParticipantCheers, all the wiring looks fine, the pressure switch was listed as that model but is slightly different although the plugs fit so I wasn’t too concerned about that. As you say not much left and I have located a board at a reasonable price, worth a go before I order a new machine !!

Moderatorbe careful
just because the board is listed for that model the fact there are 12 different variants of this machine might well mean the board have different softwareDave

ParticipantThanks Dave , I take your point, the part I found is a matching numbers one.
cheers.February 27, 2022 at 10:24 pm #481377electrofix
Moderatordoes it match the pnc number as well ?
Dave
February 27, 2022 at 10:40 pm #481378Richardhw1
ParticipantThat I don’t know, I’ll find out when it arrives !!
February 27, 2022 at 10:47 pm #481379electrofix
Moderatoryou wont because the pnc number is the commercial code of the machine and its on the label inside the door
the model number these days can mean a number of machines in a range and the pnc number lets you find the exact machine to order correct parts
all you can hope is the software is the same. you may find programmes differ
