I have a problem with my Hotpoint LFT 114. It suddenly just stopped turning on. Checked the fuse, it is fine. I already ordered another dishwasher yesterday, because I though as it is probably quite old call-outs wouldn’t be a good idea, but when I took it out from underneath the worktop and it suddenly started working. I though it was connected with a new fuse, which I’ve just installed, even though the old was was proven working, but when I pushed it all back under the worktop, it stopped turning on again.

I took off the front panel, nothing seems fried, but I don’t know what else to try. Really or how to access any other possible culprit areas. Any ideas as to what might be causing it to not turn on at all, but then it did come to life a few consecutive times, when it was outside.

Again, I’m not sure if calling someone out is a great idea as I doubt there are any spare parts available any more and call-outs are quite expensive.

first thing i would check is the on off switch itself
had a few of these fail but if you strip the box open, find the switch and use a very small amount of wd40. the push the sw on and off a few dozen times you can often get them to work again

also have you checked the socket its plugged into is ok ?

Thank you so much for this! It was the on/off switch indeed. It seems to be working again now, hopefully it lasts a while! Thank you!

Actually it’s still very temperamental. Is there any way to but this button panel somewhere still?

Sorry, it’s just turning on/off inconsistently, sometimes it takes 20-30 presses for it to work, sometimes it works immediately. Have found the buttons module on ebay, hopefully that will do the trick.

    Thanks!
