    Hi
Every time we switch the oven on, there is a loud almost grinding sound, not sure If it’s the fan, or bearings,
The noise is unbearable, and then suddenly stops, probably when the oven has become quite hot.

Is it a new motor or fan?
    Thanks

will be the bearings in the motor

my computer does a similar thing albeit a lot quieter. when it starts is noisy, I wait 3 mins and hit the case. silence results

Likely the motor bearings but I assume you have checked to see than the fan can turn easily and isn’t obstructed in any way?

    Yes checked the fan,
Strange turned it on just now, loud noise as usual, left it on for 10 minutes to heat up, turned off, then straight on, no noise.
I’m assuming the bearings are hot, so no noise?

if you want to prove it , take motor off. add a drop of light oil ( not wd 40 as it stinks ) and then see if noise is there from cold. if no order a new motor as the oils wont last
