ParticipantDoes anyone know how to remove the hinges on this type of oven – see attached video / photos – I have the door off and have removed the two screws at the bottom of the door that hold the hinge but the top of the hinge is held in place by a fold of steel – seems like the hinge was never meant to be replaced – am about to give up and throw away the oven and buy a new one because the hinge wont come out

Moderatorok i see
the hinges are in the locked postion. they have to be unlocked to get them out
put the screws back
grab hinges frimly with pliers and pull to allow you to release the lock
then care fully let the hinge go to the closed postion till you can let go
undo screws again and you should be able to get the hinge outDave

ParticipantDave – thanks so much worked perfectly – I have swapped the hinge from the bottom oven with the top – its a temporary solution as clearly the top oven springs are stiffer – you can tell from the number on the hinge 10 v’s 3 – so will try and source some new ones for the top oven

Moderatoras far as i can see hinges no longer available both main and small oven
should be part nos X1260000096 or 7002461 for main oven
small oven is X1260000239 or 7006943
you could message the site shop but cant see stock anywhere

ParticipantI was lead to believe that the part was 1260000095 – and the site says they have some – but very rare – I’m taking a risk ordering 2 for GBP 65 as I could buy a brand new double oven for GBP 250

ParticipantThanks Dave
My view here is that the BO910SS was/ is a good oven and save for the hinges performs well – always preffer to repair rather than replace with new – same approach with cars which is why we run a 1956 Landrover and a 1965 FerrariJanuary 1, 2023 at 11:48 am #485049electrofix
Moderatorcan go with the repairing theme we as engineers will always agree with but comparing the oven with the cars no
cant see the oven lasting over 50 years at least not modern designs

KeymasterThat hinge is available, ordered as needed now as it’s not a commonly used one and I think set to go obsolete.
