Basically the fridge is not cold enough but the freezer is. I have rather randomly replaced the thermistor and thermostat I think. both easily to replace and sounded like the most likely culprits. The defrost element seams fine, the coils were iced up but after defrosting it has not iced up again. Any ideas what to do next. My wife just want to replace it but I’m stubborn/stupid!

ok the freezer maybe ok temp but have you measured it ?

does the compressor switch off or iis it running all the time ?

these systems cool the freezer first and only when that gets down to temp is there enough gas left over to cool the fridge. if the freezer is not cold enough the fridge will never cool. if the compressor never stops apart from the energy cost it will mean a tired compressor or low gas levels

    hi

the compressor seams to be running all the time.
fridge is at 1 degree and set to max on the thermostat
freezer is at -3 degrees but that was as low as my thermometer went.
Plastic panel between fridge and freezer is warm to the touch

sound like your wife is right

you need to get a better thermometer. if food is not kept at -18 or below it wont keep as long. it could be -5 which would be dangerous for long term storage

there was before I defrosted it but no more has reformed at all, I haven’t put the back cover back on so everything is exposed still and its been running for a week now.
