The tumble drier stutters after a minute or two. sometimes it starts and stops an few seconds later. more often than not it just tries to start but stops
    Unsure what the problem is.

I originally changed the motor capacitor. Then I decide to get Hoptpoint support out to fix it but when the heard I had changed the capasitor they walked away.
I didn’t want to dumpt the drier as I thought it would be simple to fix.
I changed a thermistor, sensor at the output air flow. I just changed the motor too, seemed to work better but next day it is back to stuttering. (I’ll be selling a new motor :o) )
I got a local service man out and he changed some diodes on the main board.
I think its heat related as when I disconnect the heater it runs without issue, though not drying.

    anyone any ideas.

are you sure its not your socket thats faulty and failing under load

thanks, it’s worth considering. initial guess is don’t think so.
thinking is it runs quite welll without stopping, but maybe as you suggest the load on the heating element.

the heating element itself could be faulty ?

no cant be the element the way you describe it

element either work or not normally and if it failed in use it would continue with no heat or throw up a fault code

ok when it stops does it come up with and sequence of lights

if not it does sound like a board fault as it cant hold in the relays. you can see the flashes as the heater and motor kick in but it cant hold it

A lot of Hotpoint board can only be fitted by an engineer with programming equipment

I’ve had this before it’s a board fault

thanks for rhe advice about the board fault.
there is no lights on the panle.

kind of makes it pointless then getting a new board ?
looks like I’ll be moving to a non-hotpoint tumble drier as its so expensive and the drier is only 5 years old.

you better off away from hotpoint anyway as build quality has not been there for years
Avoid Hoover as well, terrible access for repair
