My old washer has started giving dE error code on programme start. It throws dE, beeps 5-6 times then the error disappears and starts a normal wash. It happens on every single start and then begins to wash. Is it a faulty door lock or a PCB? Many thanks!
dE is a “door error” so it thinks the door isn’t closed for some reason. If it is closed correctly the door lock is the most probable cause of it.

If I start the wash with the door open it throws dE and obviously would never start. But when I start with door closed it shows dE, for about 5 seconds, and then the display shows the remaining time and it starts the wash. If I try to open the door, during wash, it is locked as it should be. If I start the wash with a door open it throws dE, but as soon as I close the door it starts the wash.
Which would suggest the lock isn’t communicating the correct status for some reason at the start of the program.

Thank you for your reply. Most likely a main PCB issue, drying capacitors
I’d not assume that, it’s not the most likely reason.
So what do you think the most likely reason would be?
