All right, you clever Bosch engineers, see if you can give me a pointer on this one…..

Above machine intermittently turns itself off at the I/O switch at random points in the cycle. It is a proper ker-click manual switch, with the interlock rod to the door catch. I have replaced the switch, but apparently it is still doing it. Not when I’m there, of course. The door latch is engaging most securely by the way.

    FD is 7709 if required.

    Cheers,
    Chris.

Check for grease/gunk between fascia and on/off button.
Quite a common one in my experience 😉

If you have not pulled the appliance out, do this and make sure the mains plug is not melted to the back of appliance, also check for doggy mains socket as when the appliance starts to heat and draws current, will intermitantly switch off!

What, and physically switch the I/O switch off?. The only way it should pop is via the door latch, or pushing the button.

Not sure Chris to be honest but looking at the parts illustration, there seems to be a link rod also from the Timer to the I/O switch?, if that is so, that may be a reason??

Check that the on/off sw plastic lugs arent damaged where they lock into metal lugs. Had this once.

i agree with SENE i went to a hotpoint machine once all seemed fine but during parts of a wash it would stop, i even tried a new timer and brought machine home to fully test, all seemed fine. returned the machine set it up and it would play up again. turned out to be loose connections inside the socket. fitted a new socket as there were few burn marks in old one and all worked fine 🙁
