Please help me.
I have a hotpoint First edition 1000, the drum isn’t turning at all, although it sounds like it’s trying to go round.
It still fills with water and drains ok, but nothing else happens.
My letting agency is refusing to get it fixed.
Can I attempt to fix it myself or should I just try and get it repaired?
Thank you for any help anyone can give me, I’m a girl in need at the moment!

The repair is probably very simple for an engineer….most likely the motor brushes have failed. If you feel unable to check this yourself then it’s time to call an engineer for what should be a quick and easy (cheap) repair.
Have a look in Repairs@ if you need an engineer, but if you’re going to have a go then you must of course unplug the appliance before doing anything else.
