    Good afternoon everyone,

A new one on me today, The above machine thinks it’s an Indesit, Put it on any wash cycle and when it gets to the rinse the timer clicks round and sometimes keep going and while I was there today, it went round and stopped on 1, the proceeded to do a boil wash.

Not so great as I started it on a delicate wash.

    No flashing neon to help.

    Pump OK
    Air trap OK
    Brushes OK
    Heater OK

Anyone ever had this problem before ??

    Many thanks all

    Pat

    Hi Pat.
just to ask if you done an insulation test on the heater and the motor as i have had a few of these that show strange random faults and its been down to earth leakage (but not enough to trip RCDs out).

    Cheers Bob.

    Yes!

Stepper Timer Motor problem (usually the internal locking spring fails) Part No: 91201337 I think is the replacement part number.

This is a common fault on these slave timers. We’ve got them in stock at £19.90+vat inc first class post and 12 months guarantee. If you need to return to us for any reason, handling charge is £4+vat. We are happy to let you borrow one and see if it sorts the problem out. Tony EMW 0115 9652118

Thanks everyone, I will ring the customer in the morning and give her the good news and find out if she’s happy to part with a nice wad of cash for a machine she doesn’t like. ( i think she will)

Cheer’s will post how it goes.

I’ve got a similar problem although sometimes the slave unit sticks, sometimes it rotates quickly past the off position. EMW has checked the slave and pcb and found no fault. Insulation resistance of machine is 50Mohm cold, although haven’t checked it with water hot.
Has anybody got any ideas please?

Best thing with these m/c is to carry a spare module to try in. I have had this problem a few times and replacing the module usually sorts it. These modules (R/H top of machine) seem to be fairly standard and even look to be the same on the present models, so worth having one available as a tester.

As the motorised selector switches are an analogue device returning a resistance that varies with the selected position, apart from the switch wiper being a bad contact or damaged (due to anitclockwise use) IMO they are not usually much trouble. The switch motor is controlled directly from the module so any erratic behaviour of the switch is due to the module, so its best to eliminate this first IMO.

Thanks for that information Andy. Since refitting the board & slave back in the machine [3 days ago] after they were tested at EMW they have been working ok! I’m wondering if I had a loose connection on one of the edge connectors. Am waiting to see what transpires.
