KeymasterCan anyone please assist me? I have a Hotpoint Iced Diamond (R134a) which unknowingly just stopped. Light on ok. When the setting knob is turned down to 0 and then put back to a setting it cuts in and runs. It seems to run until temperature achieved and then stops and only runs when the above procedure is carried out again. Does anyone think it may be the thermostat? If so what part would I need and it’s location? Is it easy to change as I am quite confident I could renew it. I would be most obliged for any help. Thanks.

Usually it is the thermostat if it is not getting cold. If you require an engineer check out repairs@ on LHS of page. Unplug first :zap: if you are going to have a look yourself.

Thanks Simon for reply. I might have given wrong info in my post. The fridge does get cold ok but cuts out as said. Will it still be the thermostat? Thanks.

Yes, it’s almost certainly the thermostat.
Without the model number (R134A is the gas type) I can’t check the genuine part for you but the universal one fits most Hotpoint larder fridges:

My model number for the Hotpoint Iced Diamond is RL64S. Can anyone please tell me the part number for the thermostat? Most obliged.

Thermostat is p/no 261055 – an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk quoting that number will get things moving for you.

Hello all –
I have a Hotpoint Iced Diamond Larder Fridge – the tall one. It’s about 7 years old.
It has just stopped cooling. The light is on & ok. It was cooling just fine before it just stopped.
Resetting the thermostat, as noted in the post above, does nothing
Do you think the thermostat is broken in this case as well ? If so, is it easily replaceable ? If not, is it something else – compressor perhaps ? If the latter, worth replacing or just buy a new fridge ?
Thanks in advance – David

Model number???
If you turn the thermostat Off, then back On can you hear/feel a distinct click. If not then the thermostat is a strong possiblity.
Jim.
