Don’t laugh but I have a long standing customer with a Hotpoint 18370 aged around 24 years ( the washer that is ). It still has the original black rubber door seal, pump etc. The drum, backplate & bearings are very sound. I fitted a Qualtex ARM 20 to this machine over 17 years ago and the armature bearings are now shot. The customer is insistant on me repairing this machine but the one problem I have is the old type motor. The hole in the motor end cap/housing is only big enough for the motor shaft to fit through, the early ARM 20’s came with a separate pulley that you had to fit with two pins after you had reassembled the motor. ( you had to saw off the pulley on the old armature)
All hotpoint gen & ARM 20’s now come with the pulley fitted so I cannot fit one to this machine.
All I need is the motor pulley end bracket with a hole that the motor pulley will fit through.

I will gladly pay all costs incurred.

    Jim.

Will the end cap from a 161410or 161408 do?
If it will PM me you address and I’ll get one over to you.
Price of a  if it’ll do

That would do nicely, the size of the hole is all that matters ( oh matron ) 😳

A pity I am busy, I could do with a trip to the seaside.
    Will PM you my details.

    Thanks.
    Jim.

Might be a silly question but can’t you just drill the hole bigger?

I don’t have a drill that big, however it would be an option to get it drilled out at an engineering shop, the pulley is much larger than the shaft and would really need a big drill and strong restraint to drill such a light piece of alloy.

I suppose an option would be to file it out but that would take some considerable effort.

I have one on they way thanks to cornwell40’s kind offer. 🙂
