ModeratorSorry don’t have full model number, just taken a call from a customer with a german made AEG with error code CE ( water distibution fault)
apparently fairly common, how easy is this to cure and what are the parts/costs involved ?August 23, 2005 at 10:31 am #145586Dave_Conway

It’s the water distributor thing, basically the top of the dispenser which has a motorised water direction thing on it.
There are two or three types so PNC required to identify the correct one π
Dave.

The number I know to be for that PNC is 8996454307993 π
Easy to fit, the fascia panel needs removing first then it’s downhill all the way!

There’s no such part number π
8996454307993 is the one you need, it should cost you around Β£35 (Β£46.23 ex VAT is the Lux list price)
Pretty easy, you need to remove the control panel though to allow the dispenser to move forward enough to get the top off π
Dave.

You could have warned me about the two small empty plugs on the new distributors edge connectors. For one heart stopping moment I though I had the wrong part when I couldn’t get the plugs back on. π³ π

I fitted one of these a few weeks ago. The twits at Connect Distribution warehouse thought it a good idea to put two cooker hinges inside the dispenser to save on packaging. It didn’t survive…

:rotl: We few, we brave souls, have suffered the same heart rendering moments over the very same issue by finding those same connector blocks on the end of the board that do not compare with the connectors you have to hand π
…..then in a moment of brilliant realisation π‘ (they are only stuck on the bl**y board for show I reckon)….you rip them off and plug in the existing connectors…. and away it goes π

VORSPRUNG DURCH TECNIK may be one way of putting it but I think it after all is spin-off from the German engineers gutted over WW11.As Fritz may say to Hans : “Macht alles, das Sie kΓΆnnen, den Feind zu verwirren!”

The whole darned thing is a complete waste of money, a three way cold fill valve would have done the job just as well.
