KeymasterHi,
I have an aeg competence electric single oven (will need to access paperwork for the exact model). Recently, the oven has started to switch itself off in the middle of cooking. This is a random event as the oven may work for 20mins or over an hour, but generally it will switch itself off. After a period of time, the oven can then be switched back on again. I suspect the thermostat, but unsure as a ‘random’ problem. Can anyone provide some advice/suggestions on how to determine if it is the thermostat and how to replace…Thanks

It sounds like the cooling fan control thermostat but without a model we’re not going to be able to tell for certain.
Check around the door, there should also be a number beginning Enr or PNC (product code).
Dave.

Participantyes you need a thermal cut out part number 8996619267611. When replacing appliance must be disconnected from the electrical supply.

It probably is Dave but we’ll need the PNC as above to tell for certain.

Thermal cut-out kit to fit B1180-4-B Pnc 94416506500 is p/no 8996619273-56/9. Email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for pricing and ordering.
As to whether this will cure your problem or not is down to your diagnostic skills – if the symptons are as outlined in the thread, it is not unreasonablle to assume that the part will do the trick.
Power off of course.

mine is a PNC 944 181 727
Recently, the oven has started to switch itself off in the middle of cooking. This is a random event as the oven may work for 20mins or over an hour, but generally it will switch itself off. After a period of time, the oven can then be switched back on again.
Having opened the top of the oven there is a small component in blue shrink wrapped plastic with four wires, 2 blue and 2 white. it is a bit burned. is this the part that needs replacing or is it something else?
Thanks, Phil

Hello
Same problem with my AEG – PNC 944 181 727. Fitted the replacement part number 8996619267611 – AEG & Electrolux Oven Cooling Fan Control on Sunday and waited with baited breath to see if the oven still cuts out after 30 minutes – and it did. Any ideas?
