ModeratorBosch Tumble dryer 3204gb/09
dryer starts up in a clockwise direction and heater relay engages
dryer stops to reverse and starts going in anti clok direction but heater relay does not engage
when dryer stops again to go clockwise heater relay engages (somtimes)
have checked exhaust thermistor and am getting around 11k tried a 5k6 resistor in place of and got no difference
if i disconnect thermistor i get a flashing iron dry light another one for your fault codes list
anyone any ideas on this one even put wet clothes in it to see if it made difference but no
any ideas would be good
thanks Dave

Is this the one with the carbon brush which wears out on the drum?

yes it is the one with the carbon brush have held brush in contact and does not seem to change problem
there is a setting for a 30 min cycle since this is timed i would not expect the sensors to be active but i may be wrong

…by the way, because the fan only blows air in one direction only and thru the element box, during the short 3 second reverse tumble its not blowing and so the element switches off to prevent overheating !

Depending on model,m/c does not pull full current for at least 5 mins.As comparison is made between ntc’s.If you disconnect one then it will show fault.
Have you checked carbon pick up on rear bearing?

sorry had not noticed i had not put letters in model no will post tomorrow when i have checked cant remember them
@ simon46 no it does not work any better on 30 cycle
will take off element cover and check for a carbon pickup
there were one or two times when the element came back on for a second time but then failed later. its like the board is being told to keep element off through a faulty sensor or the like
thanks for all help so far

Did you get a fix for this one electrofix? I’ve got the identical model (WTA3204/GB09 Fd 8306) with exactly the same problem namely it only powers the heater in the anticlock direction and the drum brush contacts appear healthy.
If anyone else has come across this i’d be pleased to know the outcome.
