KeymasterAm finding that clothes are getting caught in the small gap between the rotating drum and static housing. Can see no obvious faults with the machine (sharp edges, bits of seal sticking out etc) and am wondering if this fault has occured before and, if so, what the fix is.
Have contacted Zanussi to see if they can advise on this question and if there have been any upgraded parts/modifications. However, they say they can’t tell me due to product liability laws if I try to repair the machine and injure myself (fair enough in this crazy day and age). Zanussi put me in touch with the ServiceForce organisation, who won’t discuss the problem with me as they will only do site visits at £££+vat!! Whilst I understand they aren’t a charity, this does seem rather unhelpful
Thanks in advance for any advice.September 19, 2005 at 2:10 pm #147669Martin

Usually the rear bearing wears (Part No 1250134119)and the front drum support felt (1250028055) also. Needs a bit of expert TLC to fit these but a simple enough and cheap job for a local independent to sort for you. Try our Repairs@ to see if there’s one in your area?
If you want a crack at it yourself, good luck and you can order the spares (giving the above part no’s) to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk

Problem exactly as diagnosed by Martin, repairs speedily effected by ace appliances of Preston and machine back in service.
Just got to write letter to Zanussi asking why they seem incapable of this level of help…

If it helps get it off your chest John then fine. But better still, if you just reflect on the eventual outcome and instead tell all your friends about UK Whitegoods, I and my many colleagues here will be very pleased the story had a happy ending. 😀

Yep, there are several bulletins regarding the front felt and bearings. It goes on the PNC (product code) and serial number as there have been a few versions of this model.
Mainly new part numbers and advising engineers how to fit them corrrectly 😉

Quite correct! The Mod Kit (Part No 50272165007) includes the replacement felt and 2 plastic ‘bearings’. Demand must be very low though as no-one stocks this part? (special order status 🙁 )
