    Hi
I have a bosch wfb 2005 gb and the door no longer locks.
So after looking and finally realizing how an interlock works I have a query.
I have 3 wires yellow and red, brown and white.
and by joining the brown and yell/red together i can get the machine to work so by default the white goes to the bi metallic switch in the lock which when heated joins the 2 together.
The white comes from the pressure switch.
so anybody tell me why i cant get the door to lock? or have a wiring diag for said model.
    cheers John

Does the machine actually work with the interlock in place and connected correctly ?

In theory it can’t but the plastic could be worn on the latch/lock allowing the door to opened.

no it didn’t work with the lock in place . I assume it is something to do with the white wire from the pressure switch that operates the bi met switch on the lock , but without stripping the machine down in my kitchen I am not too sure.
I have tried a similar lock with similar connections inside it will work with lock in if i manually push the contacts together and will lock but it will not lock on its own.

I’m sure you need a new interlock. just order the correct one. You’ll need to specify which GB/?? and FD number. any probs ring 01325 485939 an dwe can supply it.

ALWAYS make a diagram before pulling wires off………

Irrespective of make and model, all 3 wire door interlocks have one live to it (L), one live from it (C) and a neutral return supply(N) for the bi-metal coil. But that’s the easy bit to establish, the tricky bit is that most modern Interlocks have numbered terminals that very often don’t comply to a common wiring pattern. 😕

9 times outta 10 i do but i didnt have the exact lock for this machine so i used another style and the wires go on different.
I did have to open the casing on the locks to find out where 😀

Martin stated that all 3 wire interlocks have a live wire to it , a neutral to it , and a live from it . I beg to differ . All three wir interlocks have a live feed and a neutral feed , but the c wire is connected to neutral out on some machines . The old metalflex interlocks fitted to some older machines have a cicuit diagram printed on them . This clearly shows that with the interlock operated or locked the third or C wire is connected to neutral . Your comments?

I think that you have been in the water to long or are suffering from the ‘bends’ here (only joking by the way 😉 ) but seriously, please elaborate on what the hell a Metaflex is? I am sure you appreciate how interlocks work and that you cannot have just one live supply and two neutrals. How will that work then?

Pretty straight forward Martin you simply have a live and neutral to the heater and the neutral is switched instead of the live.

A manufacturer of interlocks, especially exploding red ones beloved of Hotpoint.
