Thought I would go and try some commercial for a change. When I got there the machine was dead and a strong smell of gas. The thing is 6ft tall and 3ft wide but only 240v. Got a corgi guy to repair the gas leak and rewired up the motor. All tickety boo. Now the thing has a pilot light but wont burst into flame so to speak. Is this controlled by an electric stat or is to do with the gas side. Thought some of you gas guys might know. It was an interesting one and a change for me. Like to see it through if I could. A long shot, any takers or should I pass it to the commercial boys?

there is an air flow switch ( micro switch with a disc and wire frame work ) fitted near the burner box, designed to prevent the gas valve opening in the event of a duct blockage, or prevent flare up if the door is opened ( check the filter is clean and the filter door is closed properly )
on no account should this be taped closed, or shorted, but for testing purposes, hold the disc in while the unit is running and watch.
if the dryer has a pilot , it is very old and may have faults with the gas valve. any work on the gas side of this should only be done by someone with commercial laundry corgi card.
