Hi – I attended one of these slimline dishwashers which has a leak. The water appears to be escaping through a hose which is open into the base. (a drain). As there are water marks that suggest this (even though i could not get it to leak at the time. Also for some reason the float switch has not operated to raise an error condition

Can anyone tell me please the purpose of this hose and where the leak is originating from. At first i thought it might drain water in the event of the level being too high but now not sure.

I would appreciate some help on this

    Thanks

    Andy 😀

It could almost be the same answer as another post, there is a device , in the parts list it is called a ‘bodytop overflow’ a small round plastic thingy just behind the lower spray arm, it allows an overfill of the inner drum to flow into the base.

Thanks Iadom I did not see that post. The reason I began to doubt that it was for an overfill condition is because i poured extra water into the machine to simulate an overfill but no water came out of the hose. I actually covered completely the grey plastic thingy that has holes around it but did not get any water out ?? Is this the syphon device that SDL mentions

In theory, an overfill should leak down the tube. I’ve been to so many of these where they leak from the tube seals to the tub (It’s a screw fit).

funny thing is, in the Hotpoint DWF40 derivative, what appears to be the same part is called a cap, with a different part number. Had one of these on which the pressure sensor had blown out of the small rubber diaphragm hose and flooded the base last week.
