😕 Seems like a common form of alarm clock this ……

was woken up in the night by the beeping and all three lights were flashing did a reset and went back to bed only to be woken up again . Checked the fridge and the freezer and both are normal temperatures . Manual says its a major fault ? Any ideas ? Unit approx 4 years old but it good condition .

This is the manual for the unit.

    Thanks

If you read this thread lad25:

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ic&p=63333

It’s virtually the same product (controls are identical).

yeah I read that but my unit is working as normal just wondered if there was a simple fault that caused the alarm to go off …. one thing I did notice was that when I took the bottom facia off there was a lot of muck blocking the vent , would this cause an alarm ? ❓

Have something similar – same problem (not checked vents). Problem happened a few times, works fine after reset, after a few months of this it started to make a noise (kind of permanent high pitched sound when fan/compressor is on). Not sure if it is the fan that could do with replacing or the sign of something more serious. No restart needed for some time now though.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Re: Zanussi ZK87-46EF Fridge Freezer

I’ve been reading some info on this and there are two audible alarms, one is the door open alarm and the other the high temp alarm (freezer over -12 for more than 45 mins)

With either, one of the three lamps should also be flashing, if that is not the case then I think you may have an electronics problem (the main control PCB).

Are any of the lights flashing at the same time as the alarm is sounding ?

Take the fascia off at the front and give it a good clean – you’d be surprised at what’s under there.

Well after a few months of non beeping its returned and now the freezer keeps defrosting , fridge seems ok . When I unplug it and restart the freezer starts to work again , its now the second time its done this , any ideas what it could be or is it engineeer time ?

ps any in the ne232xr area ?
