(AGI) – Naples, Italy, Dec.6 – Investments totalling 77 mln euro, reclaim of the productive site east of Naples with 14 productive and logistic operations, 240 people to be hired (making the overall staff 1000 units), two advanced research laboratories cooperating with the engineering faculties of Universities Federico II and Parthenope.
These are the figures of Whirpool’s ‘Genesis’ project, presented today at the company’s Naples-based factory, and drawn up with Campania’s regional assembly and the Industry Ministry. Of the overall 77 mln euro allocated to the project, Whirpool will allocate 20 mln, to be added to the 57 mln allocated by the consortium members (37 mln by the Industry Ministry and Campania Regional Assembly).
Works will begin in January, and Progetto Genesis will be running by Jan 2008. “The idea – said Whirpool Europe operations e technology deputy president Che Naraine – came about following the need to enhance productive processes, both within and outside the Naples factory, to boost our competitiveness.
