Appliance giant Electrolux AB is investing another $40 million to expand its new Juarez refrigerator production next year, company officials said Monday.
The company’s $100 million plant in south Juarez opened in June. It employs 1,400 workers and will hire 300 more when the expansion project is in full operation. The new employees will make new refrigerator models. Electrolux will eventually employ 3,000 in Juarez, officials said.
“This investment in production facilities for new product designs will strengthen Electrolux’s position in the refrigerator industry,” said Bob Cunningham, vice president and general manager of refrigerator product line.
