The door of the main oven on my 5 year old AEG Competence oven does not fully open. There seems to be problem with the hinge on the left-hand side. By pulling the oven door more on the left side it is possible to get the door to fully open.

    Model Number: 30380B-W
    Product Number: 944171047

Is it possible to get a replacement hinge (product number: 311220706/7) and fit myself?

Re: Main oven door not opening fully

It is advisable to change the hinge and its support as a pair.

    Hinge is p/no 3113390-02/9, about £10.
    Support is p/no 3111468-00/9, about £4.

Plus VAT and delivery – email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for confirmed prices and ordering.

It is basically a screwdriver job.

Re: Main oven door not opening fully

I seem to have exactly the same AEG Competence oven with exactly the same problem, except on mine, the lower right hand hinge of the main oven door has broken (/dropped) instead of the left. Pulling the door out a little on the RHS allows it to open fully.

Are the part numbers quoted still valid for the RHS, or are they different to the LHS?

I read advice on the website about replacing both sides together so maybe this is still advisable?

I also read the self-help pages about replacing oven doors (http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ge&pid=309) and wondered if this is relevant to top-opening doors? The thought of ripping my tendons out worried me a little 😯 ! But if this is “basically a screwdriver job” then I should be ok. Any advice about the sequence to dismantle the door to replace the hinges would be very welcome, however.

    Many thanks.
