I have an Indesit WD12s Washer/Dryer. When any program is selected nothing happens except occassionaly the dial will rotate and I get 11 flashes on the on/off light. I have tried the usual reset procedure for Indesit machines but still nothing.
I then found that the door lock wasn’t being activated – tried a new door lock – still nothing. Measured 240v on each of the two inputs to the door lock and 0v on the output. I am guessing that one of the inputs should be at 0v to activate the lock – it is a bi-metallic strip with a small heater underneath. If the lock is over-ridden manually then the machine begins the program as normal, although I have not run through a whole cycle.
What activates the door lock – I assume it is controlled direct from the CPU but is there anything else that would prevent it being activated?
Re: Indesit WD12s – nothing happens unless door lock bypasse
11 flashes is ‘supposed’ to signify that the pump is faulty. The PCB does auto test most components before the machine will run, however these machines have such troublesome, unreliable electronics that the fault codes are at best a first place guess in most cases 😥
Note to the general public
Live testing of the machine is not advisble. :zap:
Re: Indesit WD12s – nothing happens unless door lock bypasse
Apart from checking and if need be tightening all the connections on the module ( with the plug removed of course 😉 ) not much else you can do. Welcome to the world of the disposable washer, courtesy of Indesit. 😥
