i,M A PRENTICE ELECTRICIAN so I know hardly anything cos I’m year 1
My mums machine trys to start, and then stops, it cycles like this no matter what mode, wash, rinse, spin, just fires and stops , fires and stops,
Any help would really be appreciated It went trhough a complete wash cycle, til it got to spin, it beeped continually, so I unloaded it, and tried, and then discovered the above mentioned stop start thing
Thanks

Be glad to help Stu, but, two things –
1) Need the actual model number – GW/MW/IW and the numbers.
2) Run the diagnostics.Hold Wash Temp Down, then Power On. At this point the model is important – phase 1 + 2 machines need you to push Advance once. Later machines don’t. Press Spin until Hold and Slow Spin are lit. At this point, the wash progress panel will light. The pattern will tell us the fault code. Post from right to left – 1 for “on”, 0 for “off”

Hi Jack,
Not a valid code I’m afraid. The spin light should not be flashing if you have entered diagnostic mode successfully – it should be on or off.If you would post up the model number as per my first post, I can advise you a bit more precisely.

Fault should come up as a combi of the 8 wash lights – read off right to left starting from “spin”.
Just noted your second post – must have crossed in the ether, thanks.
6c this morning……. 🙁

ok it is 00110000
although no matter wht I do, like turning off at socket , the sin light flashes slowly,
maybe cos it stopped at that point, or cos water is high,January 16, 2006 at 12:00 am #160970Penguin45

Ok, that one works…….
Hot and cold valve fault. This can be a fault with the wiring harness between the motor board and the valves, it can be a fault with the inlet valves themselves (64ohm when metered out of circuit). If these check out ok, it’s probably the motor controller. At that point, it may be best to get some pro help to avoid any expensive mistakes.

They’ve been to England once and it was all a bit of a balls up on the service front – shame really as the refrigeration and cooking products are first class. They haven’t set the washers loose in the UK, as most of us only have room for front loaders (they go under work surfaces, you see).
Anyway, let us know how it pans out.
