    have just fitted new base element to this unit, just getting p/w signed off when tripped. Unit is tripping with no elements on either at top or bottom, just when t/stat is switched. would this now be the stat faulty or am I missing something here. thanks

    The fan element ?

    No fan element. oven gets heat from grill element and base element only.
    If you switch selector switch to oven light so there is power on, and then turn t/stat, then it trips. Neon was disconnected also.

    That’s odd, on the spares diagram and parts list it shows three elements 😕

    There’s a good chance the new element has damp ingress.

    Try and run the oven on full with the earth disconnected to dry the element out.

    If that not does the trick it could be one of the other elements is about to go try meggering them 👿

    thanks. will try the above. Fan element removed?? will ask customer if they require new. strange!

    If the elements test ok, check the cooker control unit on the wall & the cooker outlet plate (if fitted). I have had insulation problems with cheap makes.
