Motor brushes worn, appears customer has been turning the drum to kick start it a couple of times 😥
Timer/Control unit has no obvious damage, motor overload has blown, comm cleaned up OK. Does the motor housing incorporate an new overload, is this a feasable repair, ( overload blown on Hotpoint almost always needs new armature ) and is the housing part number 096331 (six pin motor) ❓
I’ve re-read your post Jim and Andy is correct in that a complete motor the only answer in this case. The TOC blowing is not a good sign and its a 50/50 chance the armature is duff. 096331 possibly may work however if you have one to try first that is 😉
However, I have convinced the customer that a new motor on this machine is a better use of £200+ than his intended course of action, which was to go and buy a new £200 washer. 🙂
