    Help!! 😯

    I need some advice on model SGS56E02GB/35…it keeps missing the drying stage and keeps washing/rinsing up to 1 minute and then just doesn’t stop. I’ve had a look at the control module and there’s no obvious sign of a burnt-out resistor, or any cracks in the circuit board. It could be the heating element, but I reckon the element is ok and the control module isn’t sending the right pulse (or whatever..) to kick-in the drying phase. Do you think I need a new module?

    I need help quick coz the missus is making my ears bleed!! 🙄

    I would inspect the tank on the left side and internal pipework inc pressure unit for gunge as this is teh usual problem for odd faults like this.

    Thanks for the reply…I did give all of the filters a good clean, checked the waste hose, and also the pump impellor (no damage).

    I’ve also just found out that the water is cold…even on intensive selection…would a faulty element cause the module to miss the drying stage?? 🙄 🙄

    If there is no heat then the drying cycle would not be skipped but very poor if existent.

    I’ve just tried another wash…2hr 7min, 50C…after 1hr 50mins, it was still showing over 1hr left and was still washing. It hadn’t started rinsing and the water was cold. Is there somewhere you can buy 2nd-hand Bosch parts?

    I dont know anywhere you can get 2nd hand parts, although I wouldnt use 2nd hand parts because there is no guarantee of their credebility.Its obviously a heating problem but I think its engineer time as we have covered as much as we can. Try the link below for your nearest engineer.

    Exceptionally complex machine – digital control board can play up, heater failed, underfilling can all cause the problems you are describing. Probably time to bite the bullet and send for the engineers.

    Me too. Timer counts down to 1 minute and machine then just continues.

    Just checked and it doesn’t seem to be heating the water. No obvious damage to the control board.

    Faulty heating element?

    Sad this, replying to your own posts 😀

    Been in with the old AVO 8 – the heating element is totally open circuit.
    Checked voltage applied on auto program and quick program. on auto there’s no voltage across the heater during the prerinse and the voltage appears just as the tablet dispensor opens. On quick, voltage comes on about 5 minutes in – also when the tablet dispensor opens. I assume the little brown thing in the middle of the element is a water sensor cutout in case of too little water? I checked and that’s working ok – voltage was measured across the actual element terminals.

    So – I guess my heating element is gubbed?

    Many thanks for the information. (and thanks for this most useful site)

    You’re quite right – I should have thought more carefully before posting what I’d done 😳

    Anyone reading this thread – unless you’re suitably qualified NEVER work on live equipment. I should add that I’m an Electronic Engineer and Radio Ham who regularly works on equpiment with over 2000 volts exposed so I’m fairly experienced at working in dangerous environments. Unless you know what you’re doing (not just think you know) don’t even think about it. YOU CAN DIE DOING THIS KIND OF STUFF. 😥
