ParticipantHi
my ariston margherita isn’t working. It goes through the cycle and stops before it takes the fabric conditioner. i have checked the filter, there was a penny in it but still doing the same thing after i have removed it. Checked other suggestions on site but can’t fix it. It is not draining the water and the selector knob keeps turning. When i turned it off then off again, the light just constantly flashes.

I have checked and re-checked the filter and I can’t see anything blocking it, can it get blocked anywhere else ❓

Can get blocked in the sump hose (hose from drum to pump filter) or if your machine drain hose is connected to your sink waste it can get blocked there. Power off if going in machine

Hi
whats the best way to check where the blockage is. I have disconnected the hose to the sink and there is no water coming out but still loads coming out of the filter. is that a clue or am i completely barking up the wrong tree ❓February 12, 2006 at 1:30 pm #164149Penguin45

Can you hear the pump running, Dawn? If not when the machine is drained fully you need to check in the back of the pump chamber by the propellor – hands, knees and torch job. Alternately the pump motor itself may have failed.

how do you look in the back of the pump chamber. Couldn’t hear the pump running so if the pump motor has failed is it expensive to get fixed
thanks

Its the area of the pump straight behind the filter.
If the pump has failed, you will need this:
