ParticipantHaving read through the forum, I guess I need the service board that everyone talks about, but just need confirmation, looked for E number, but courtesy of Bosch, they put it where it gets rubbed by the box.
Last couple of digits that I can see are ..201GB/01. Fridge was purchased Oct ’96.
At the bottom of the label, I can see ‘KG UU 32A’
thx.March 2, 2006 at 10:01 am #167278gegsy

Have just been told by repair guy that the temp sensor is replacable and the board is not needed….
Help !!!! any advice??March 2, 2006 at 7:02 pm #167281gegsy

E2 is fridge evaporator sensor which is fitted into insulation of appliance at manufacture. Unless you want to drill it out (messy) I would go with the PCB.

Pulled apart cover inside freezer, found various sensor cables and plugs, 3 sensors to the left on colour coded plugs, one fan power cable and another sensor on the right, all of which could be easily replaced.
I take it is none of these then??
Pity I couldn’t post a photo of the inside….

Has anyone ever tried getting to the sensor?
Repair guy that I contacted from this site said that it was replacable and I didn’t need the board and that the fridge cooling came from the freezer unit…..

Hi
Not that I know of. It doesnt sound a good option personally.
I would use an engineer from the link below if I were you so that you get the correct information. 😉

I did!
Just seems strange, when you look at this unit, everything so far has the look of being replacable except obviously the cooling elements…

The fridge refrigerant is fed to the from the freezer via a diverter valve. This howeever has nothing to do with an E2 error being displayed.

Can anyone recommend a source for these boards, the repair guy I contacted wasn’t interested in supplying unless they fitted it as well… 😥

Gegsy IS right this is a FOAMED IN FRIDGE sensor problem. It is indeed UNREPLACEABLE.
The only cure is a new pcb 263782
