According to Partfinder you can only buy the heater but the cut-out kit is part number 1703200 😉

if the cut-out hasn’t got a hole in the back, then drill a tiny hole in the one thats on and reset it with a pin. i’ve done that loads of times when i’ve been caught short and not wanted to go back. mind be very careful when drilling or you’ll go right through.

There are several threads of similar theme to this one.
It must be stressed that it is not safe to reset these stats. In my opinion they should not be known as stats but should be referred to as a Thermal Fuse.
They trip for a reason and simply resetting them is not solving the original problem.
Pushing them from inside with a pin can send them wildly out of calibration. So much so they may not provide any protection in the future!

sorry perhaps i should have pointed out that the cause is eliminated first. ie blocked condenser etc. and i did say reset it gently with a pin not a sledge hammer. never ever had a call back, and lets be honest its no different to the ones that already have a hole in, or the red one on a crosslee tumbler, they just blocked it up so we’d all buy new ones. finally the latest hotpoint condenser dryer that i’ve been to had a resettable stat in it.

Could it be that you ‘have never had a call back’ because it doesn’t work any more? If it has gone out of calibration then it’s possible that it is no longer giving the protection that it should.
Also, the stats come in pairs, for the one shot to have tripped, it implies that the other stat is stuck in short circuit, or that it has gone out of calibration resetting the one shot obviously means that the other one is not being replaced
Sorry, I might be being over-cautious but I will always replace a trip that has failed unless it is designed to be reset. The stats with a pin hole in the back are not, in my opinion, designed to be reset.

Not necessarily. I had a problem a while back where they kept sending kits with 2 stats in instead of one stat and one t.o.c. These were genuine HPT kits.
Also there may be other sources for a new thermostat (RS for example who will send even one small item carriage free – saves making up a big order).

if you get persistant probs with the one shot stat, try replacing the capacitor as well, reason behind this ..dryer works fine for 20 mins or so, but then develops motor movement probs due to faulty capacitor..
hope this helps

Have to agree with Bob on this one thermostats should never be reset unless there is a obvious reset button built in. Its just not worth the risk of a fire.
