Hi guys, have you ever come across this problem? I dont have the model number yet, but a friend purchased an indesit WM. They installed it in the same place their old machine went but when they ran it they found that the cold water tank in their loft was overflowing! Who would you call out? plumber or WM repair man? Indesit will charge a no fault call out fee if its their plumbing. Any advice appreciated.

I don’t see how the washing machine is doing that 😕
And if I was in his shoes, I’d ring a plumber. But, if I was in his shoes, I wouldn’t have bought an Indesit 😉

It’s pure coincidence I think, the ball valve washer has probably failed in the loft cistern.

Just a thought are they using now using a Y piece after hot/cold valve with one pipe to soap box, (SUK – had same problem and converted Y peice with non return valve).

I would imagine that someone has inadvertantly connected your hot supply to the cold supply and the mains pressure is pushing the hot water supply backwards through the system and overfilling the cold tank in the loft.
Check that the machine has been installed with the blue pipe to the cold valve and the red(or grey) pipe to the hot valve. If a cold fill adapter has been fitted then it should be connected to your cold supply and both hoses connected to that. The hot tap should not be used at all.
If the machine is a cold fill only, ie, there is only one valve on the machine, then there should only be one hose connected to your water supply and again the hot tap should be ignored.
