    Hi,

I have a Bosch SGS43C12 that is 12 months and 3 weeks old! i.e. just out of warranty – it has a problem not completing the cycle. I searched this forum and found somebody else with the same symptom but I don’t have the same fault (water on baseplate).

From empty, the unit fills, starts to heat the water (to lukewarm) and then just stops. Manually empty and I can repeat. I had a look underneath, metered the heating element and decided it could be the RTC (thermistor/sensor) so ordered a replacement and fitted it. No change!

So…. any ideas? Control board maybe?

I could try to get the work done under warranty but a previous experience was too much hassle (another product/manufacturer) so I am happy to buy/fit bits myself. Failing that throw it away and avoid Bosch in the future.

Not so 2 year guarantee with m/c. However you may want to hide any signs of your efforts. As guarantee will be void.

Is the mains plugtop at the rear of the appliance and melted into insulation tar??
Try plugging it into a different socket to eliminate.

I received a letter asking me to take out extended warranty so assumed it was only 12 months. I will follow this up thanks. (as for evidence, it looks as though I have never been! 😉

Not too sure what you mean. The power lead enters via a strain relief grommet and there is no sign of overheating/overloading. The unit has power (status LEDs light up) and it controls the water feed solenoid etc.

    Different socket? 13amp socket?

Plug top as in the 3 pinned plug that goes into wall socket 😛
When you say it goes “dead” do you mean no operation and no leds or just no operation with leds on??

‘Dead’ really means no further action! The power is on, the ‘active’ LED flashes, (after 2 hours+) and the water remains lukewarm.

Dead is dead as in no action and leds. Always misrepresented!!
Active light flashing, why didnt you say, you have a filling fault, either low pressure or kinked hose.

Re: Bosch SGS43C12 Dishwasher not finishing cycle

I have gone to have another look!

It is definitely not low pressure or a kinked hose. It may be a blocked filter (I will check tomorrow) but I may have given a wrong steer with the flashing LED. 😳

From power on (and already full of water) the ‘active’ LED is on and the programme runs. Lots of swooshing noise and the water being sprayed is hot (some steam) but the water in the base is cold/lukewarm. This will be the state indefinitely until the ‘start/reset’ button is pressed after which the ‘active’ LED flashes (I think I have also just discovered how to properly pause the programme!). It doesn’t flash until the button is pressed. The unit does fill with water. I have also just discovered it leaks so my original repair attempt needs to be attended to! 😳 😳

Thanks for your time with this Greg…

Re: Bosch SGS43C12 Dishwasher not finishing cycle

Does the water level seem quite high then ie almost level with lower spray arm. If it is it may need modifying to specification.
That entails replacing pcb and mushroom flood unit.

The water level IS level with the centre of the lower spray arm and is OVER the mushroom (flood unit?). I think the leak on the floor is caused by water exiting at the hinges when I’ve been opening the door.

This sounds promising – is it a known fault? How does the ‘mushroom flood unit’ work and why would the PCB need to be replaced also?

    Ok now we cooking 😀
Can you give me the full model number and then I can sort part numbers out, although in fairness to boro you do have a 2 year manufacturers guarantee so you would best be contacting your nearest BSH engineer.
    Where are you ??

Ok so you well out of my area 😆 . Your appliance was made in January 2005 so well within the 2 year guarantee.
That is far as I will go with you Steve as its down to BSH to sort now not me to tell you part numbers to fix ok mate.

Re: Bosch SGS43C12 Dishwasher not finishing cycle

Just a quick one – is it likely to be gunged up somewhere that’s easily cleaned or is it a design fault that I shouldn’t live with?

Meanwhile… many thanks again for your help. I will call BSH and post the outcome to this thread…

    cheers

    Steve
