ParticipantGday,
Just surfed on to this site so hopefully someone can help.I have a LG dishwasher, model number LD-12AW2 which is caput. I had given up on it due to the fact LG are not helping me as there is apparently no service guy South of Adelaide in Australia.
Well the problem is it starts for about a few seconds then just stops, can hear something inside prehaps a pump. LAst time it washed I heard a series of beeps coming from it but never took any notice, then when opened dishwasher it still had water in bottom. I have cleaned all jets and inlet/outlets pipes but still no difference.
Hope this infomation helps.
Cheers Troy Fynnaart

It sounds as if you have a blockage or the drain pump has failed.
Check the waste outlet etc, if you decide to look further inside don’t forget to unplug :zap:
I would have thought most engineers would be able to help though as the water drain parts etc are no different on LG than any other dishwasher to be honest 😉

Some of these dishwashers were recalled. See the Product Safety link at http://au.lge.com/index.do and compare the serial numbers listed with your own dishwasher
Normally there will be an error code come up in the display when the dishwasher detects an error. More information would be a big help.

The serial number is 106KW00879 but that doesnt fit into recall range.
No fault comes up, but after starting it you can hear a grinding type of noise (possibily pump?) then it cuts out. The timer still remains on.
I hope that gives you more infomation.

Drain pump runs for around 30 seconds at start of each cycle, so that looks like the most obvious cause (though can’t guarantee that from here)
I still would have expected an error code though…
Part number for the pump is 4681EA2002B and would set you back around $60-$70

edit: It might pay to remove the control PCB and check that it looks good and the plastic housing is not deformed. Power off if opening the panel as many live connections there :zap:
