    Have problem with my fridge freezer (Samsung model no RS21CSV). Its one of these American type ( side by side) with digital read out. Temperature on freezer fine, but not able to set fridge temp. At the moment it is at 16 deg and will not adjust below this (not even using power cool button). Sometimes in the morning it is down at 5 or 6 deg, but as the temp rises indoors, so does the fridge temp. Have tried pulling it away from the wall, and hoovering out the vents at the back, but to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Dougie.

    hi

    Hold the top rigt and top left buttons at the same time for approx 5 seconds and then tell me what you see on the display.

    Hopefully you havent turned the appliance off before hand !!

    hello Bryan, after holding buttons for 5 secs all display flickered for about 2 secs and then only middle and bottom horizontal bars of 2nd digit of temp display stayed on, eventually returning to normal display.

    Hi

    then the problem has shown that it has been into defrost for mor than approx 80 mins and has failed to defrost.

    get the engineer to check the defrost thermal overload and the defrost heater.

    Also check the fan housing for blistering.

    Thanks for the info, but was hoping to avoid calling out an engineer. Is there any way of checking the parts mentioned?

    Hi

    Supplying the parts is not a problem but unless you are compedent on checking electrical circuits then I have to advise on a engineer visit to check the defrost components for the failure.

    Also forget to say, the fan has been a bit noisy recently, and appliance makes some funny clunking noises.
