ParticipantHi all,
My washing machine has suddenly stopped working. I put the clothes in and it switches on but it just stays there and does nothing. I disconnected the machine from the wall and switched it back on but it still stayed the same.
Any advice please?
Many thanks.

Does the door lock while you’re waiting for it to start ?
It sounds like a door interlock problem to me 🙂

It locks perfectly and water comes in but it doesn’t budge at all.August 10, 2006 at 12:11 pm #184749Martin

Doesn’t budge eh? By that you mean the drum won’t rotate I guess? And I suppose if you just set the machine to ‘spin only’ you would hear the drain pump working but again the drum doesn’t turn?
If the answer is yes, then the motor brushes will need replacing! 😉
Click the link below if you need an engineer to sort it for you 🙂

A relatively simple job yes (and not costly either)

Maybe more foreign objects are still rattling about between the inner drum and outer tub? Loud knocking noises on fast spin indicate a broken drum support shaft and/or drum bearing failure? Uneven floor and machine not levelled correctly?
