ParticipantWoke this morning to find the fridge not working. Its a large Siemens larder fridge. Part of the model number is erased but its says type K9SR18A EN153 R600a.
I replaced the fuse etc but it wouldn’t work. I’ve pulled it out and then plugged it in and the compressor/motor comes on and starts cooling but then stops. The compressor is warm but not cooling the fridge!. I unplugged the fridge and left it for a while and plugged it back in and now its working. Not sure how long it will last before it stops though! Also noticed the light flickering yesterday and thats not working today. Could it be an electrical fault?

Is the model number printed elsewhere? There’s a sticker on the side with a barcode and a set of numbers if thats any use?

There’s no ENR number on the barcode sticker but there is inside the fridge and it has worn away. Will try and dig out the booklet to see if its on there.

You are going to need a BSH engineer to identify it more accurately as there are numerous models Im sorry.
Some have mechanical thermostats, some are electronic controlled which I imagine you have, which I think is causing your particular fault.Greg

Where is the thermostat located normally?
Is it easy to remove as I can’t afford to call an engineer out so I thought I’d take the thermostat out and see if I can get one from the local spares shop.

Hi
They are all situated on the inside right hand side of cavity.
Only the last model in that range has a possible electronic temperature regulator, namely KI18R03GB/03.
Although it still could be a compressor related fault 😕
