Supermarket giant Tesco is once again touting a washing machine for £99 an it would appear that, in a bid to be more dramatic than the last offer it appears that this one will give customers £520 off a integrated Bosch washing machine.
This offer appears only to be available through Tesco’s online trading division known as Tesco Direct and, yet again, would appear to be a publicity stunt.
Of course there is no stock available and, we’d hazard a wild guess and say that you probably have more chance of winning the lottery (in which case you won’t really care about a £99 washing machine) than actually getting one from Tesco at that price. In short, it’s too good to be true and therefore pretty much is but what it does do is two things, causes a rush to the Tesco Direct website as all the bargain hunters head off in search of a cheap machine or pricing mistake and it cheapens the Bosch brand.
So, Tesco wins and Bosch loses, a few customers get a bargain and people get it into their heads that a washing machine should cost £99. But, warning folks, it’s not real, it’s a PR stunt to get the Tesco Direct website some attention and known for cheap prices on electrical goods and, as we said, there’s practically no chance you will actually get that mythical bargain.
We’d very much doubt that Bosch themselves or Bosch dealers will be especially happy with this so called bargain.
