Bosch has issued a statement on its recent announcement that it would be closing two facilities in Germany although it seems fairly clear why, increased competition in the lower end of the market.

BSH (Bosch, Neff and Siemens) have announced that they are to close down production at two plants in Germany at Nauen and Bretten leading to the loss of around 1400 jobs.

Bosch has entered into a partnership with Ecovacs to launch a line of robotic vacuum cleaners which we picked up the other day when we saw this video, which looks like quite a cool robovac.

It sems Bosch is getting into the aircon business as it just bought a company that makes AC units, largely based in India, but it may go global under Bosch.

A few days ago, it was reported that Bosch was closing a plant in Spain. However, they’ve since opened one in Egypt to produce cookers.

In December of last year, Bosch announced the closure of its plant in Esquíroz, Navarra in Spain which makes refrigeration and compact dishwashers. The facility is due to close this year and costs are to blame with production set to move to Poland or Turkey.

Bosch have announced that they are to offer Matter-enabled appliances, starting with a fridge freezer model that will be available as Bosch and Siemens.

Rumours are swirling that Bosch are looking to acquire Whirlpool in a multi-billion dollar deal which would create another mega appliance group.

Bosch has launched a new Vario Style refrigerator and a fridge-freezer with simple interchangeable, coloured door fronts which is the first of it’s kind to be put on the domestic appliance market.

Another quarter, another recall and this time it’s Bosch’s turn and not for dishwashers this time but for gas hobs that have a risk of gas leak and explosion reports suggest.
