A few weeks ago, I was able to look over a Hotpoint Engineer’s shoulder at a ‘Company confidential’ Technical Bulletin about the current range of Indesit built dishwashers. Unfortunately he would not let me have a copy or a good read. …git!

The bulletin suggested cutting the soor seal short to reduce the back pressure in the tub :hmm:

Has anyone anyone seen this bulletin and able to divulge its content?

I heard this one aswell, the only tip I had, was that the new bottom seal fitted inside the well of the m/c [after removing the old ‘un from the base of the door],then to protect the new seal you had to put some kind of tape over the sharpe edge on the base of the door. They quoted some part # that turns out to be obsolete :rolls: but all is not lost, get a hold of some of that aluminium foil tape that Hoover engineers used on the Starlite model vacs, it’s the same stuff! I’ve done a couple & so far so good, but typical Merloni design 😈 👿 .
Hope this helps ,cheers Chris.. 8)

The TB that I have ‘seen’ involves cutting the main door seal short at the bottom with scissors. It gives dimensions and shows a photo of someone cutting a short length from the bottom in both corners.

I can’t quite see what it is about? I get the feeling that it to stop a pressure build up in the tank???

I did see the company confidential notice at the top!

yes Quiet correct it stops pressure build up and cures leaking from left and right side of tank adjacent to door hinges , Cut main door seal length to 5mm below door seal retainer. Hope this helps
