Participantafternoon chaps, i have a fault on this. when i went on weds the fan in the freezer was not running and the evap was frozen up. fan tests ok and once i had defrosted the evap the fan started running again. went back today and the fan is no longer running and the evap is froxen up again as a result of this.
Does any one know what brings the fan on, i assume it should start up as per the stat or H4 device?

Hi not heard of this make before, but most fans run while the compressor runs. If the evporator is frozen it isnt defrosting!
It might have a mechanical defrost timer on the back which might be sticking, defrost element/stats open circuit. or if its electronic control it might be that.cliff

hi
the fan is operated by a defrost klixon with orange and grey wires if i remember right and also there is also a thermal overload with 2 blue wires that operat the defrost heater section,by defrosting the evaperator then you are basicly by passing the fault, the unit has a mechanical defrost timer normally at the bottom left or centre of the appliance behind the plinght or in the fridge section top right,
you can turn this manually to force a defrost and test the nessasery parts.bryan
