KeymasterThere that should keep the buggers guessing for a while.
It is pretty relevant actually and I need a little help, especially from Jim, Martin and Mark.
I need horrific pictures of limescale build ups, the worse the better. I also need pics of drum spiders eaten away and suchlike, the more shocking the better.
Photos of old parts blown up, great. Photos of stuff in the tank or pump, magic. Elements ripped asunder as well. Bodged repairs, DIY cock ups all that sort of stuff.
Basically I want to build a gallery of horrors but I do need them to be decent pics, i.e. not from a mobile phone. 😕
There’s a few articles I’m working on for which this will be invaluable to get the point across. You can see I’ve expanded the advice section, well there’s a lot more going to happen with it if I have my way and I intend to fully utilise it.

I had one today that I would have liked to have photographed, a Hotpoint WM in shall we say, a ‘veiled’ household. The whole of the top of the soap dispenser, concrete weight and any other flat surface was covered in mouse droppings. 😯 😥

I assume you are already going to use any that are already in the gallery or on the boards, such as the lamb fat blockage and the Hotpoint dryer covered in fluff I posted.

Actually this reminds me, anyone got pics of detergent covered inner drums?
I’ll tell you why…
I’ve been working on a series of articles that all interlink, as well as the manufacturer info stuff amongst other things, but anyways, one I have to write up yet is about poor rinsing and short/quick washes. a few good pictures of inner drums caked in the usual gunge or detergent residues would be cracking to illustrate the points.
It serves several purposes to do this, one of which is that when you go to a call and get hit with the usual, “I’ve done it that way for years with no problem”, you can point people to that page. They tend to believe it more when it’s in print (per say) than not.
It also, as do many of the articles, make us look as being honest little Indians as diametrically opposed to being cowboys simply as we are offering the advice up front before charging to resolve any issues. So we come out the good guys.
It’s an image thing.
