    Hi,

My Indesit DG6145WG (6 years old) has developed a problem. On all of the 4 available programs it starts with a drain (that’s normal) but then the fill only lasts a few seconds and then the heater element switches on straight away even though there is a minimal amount of water there. This results in hissing etc. as the small amount of water splashes the element from the sprinkler arms. Also, this happens on all 4 programs including those which start with a cold rinse and therefore shouldn’t need the heater (I would have thought).

The lack of water is possibly due to a problem with the level sensor. But why does the heater always switch on? I assume the two problems are connected but I don’t know how.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received? Many thanks in advance.

Indeed they are, the water level system needs careful attention, likewise the heating element will need checking with an insulation tester to ensure it is in working order?

    POWER OFF FIRST OF COURSE!
