ParticipantHi
The fridge part is not cooling, and when turning up to maximum cool it makes absolutely no difference.
the freezer seems to be working properly at the moment.
the compressor is quite hot.
:rolls:thanks

I’ve had a similar problem with my frost free zanussi zbf249w model.
No cooling in fridge & red hot compressor
In my case in the rear of the freezer section were 4 screws. On removing these screws remove the plastic cover.
behind the cover is what i presume is the evaporator & a fan which is used to circulate cold air up into the fridge section & around the freezer.
My evaporator was heavily frozen so i switched off & defrosted it with an hair Dryer. The fan appeared to be running ok so I can’t understand why the air wasn’t flowing around the fridge section, unless it started running once the plastic cover was removed.
Mine has been ok for a few days but I suspect their maybe a reason for the unit not defrosting etc.
Worth a try as a possible short term fix…..Don’t use anything sharp when trying to defrost otherwise you’ll risk serious damage to the freezer.

Hi
the problem that you will have is somewhere within the defrost cycle.
either the heater, overload or defrost timer has failed.
this then causes the evaperator to ice and freeze over which in turn restricts the airflow though the evaperator which allows the cold air to go into the fridge compartment.
this will normally be shown by the fridge starting not to cool then it will eventually lead to the freezer starting to defrost.
defrosting the unit will rescue the operation for a few days/week but it will need to be investigated and repaired.
