OK, so its a washer dryer……
With the power off:
Is the fan motor free to rotate?
Do you get a resistance reading through the motor when the wires are disconnected? Test meter required.
Check all around the top of the machine – broken wires are a regular problem with these. If the above check out OK, you will have some sort of supply problem to the motor, most likely related to the control circuitry – time to send for the pros.
Don’t keep trying to run it without the blower motor – the safety is doing its job by tripping out, but you will weaken it by constant resetting.
HTH,

Sorry to be a dullard but where exactly is the fan motor and blades, i can see them from the top. I have checked wires all seem ok at first sight.

Looking at the top of the drum from the front, you have the heater duct running front to back and turning to the right. The fan motor should be mounted on the end of the ducting in the right rear corner. It should be identifiable by having a cooling fan on the end of it.

Hi I’ve just talen the back off. The heating duct runs along top centre front ot back. then dive 90degress downwards. There is a round part of teh duct mounted vertiucally on the back, this is sealed in cast metal. The belt runs from a motoe mounted on bottom of machine to the centre of the round bit on the duct. the duct end of this balet (i assume cenre spindle of encased does not turn. (the motor does), there is a rubber tube running from the rear of the heating duct to the vicenity of the powder tray.
Are we talking about the same machine. Any ideas?
Cheers

Correct – saved text from unneccessary second thread before deleting it.
The blower motor is retained by two screws under the motor and four around the top of the condenser housing. I think you’ll need a 7mm socket for those ones. No need to actually remove the condenser housing.
Fan should be p/no 268010200; spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one.
