Made a call to a fridge with internal light flashing when door opened. Thought would be easy job (loose connection or switch). But not to be !!
Electronic control on this one, no ordinary light switch, turns out to be magnet on door and reed sw on PCB. Customer complains that sometimes when door opened the interior light and the temperature display flash rythmicly (spelling) on and off. This may last for just a few seconds or several minutes, and not every time the door is opened.
Had a look on the service manual for this fridge on Electrolux DVD and no mention of this being any warning or fault indication.
Has anyone had this fault B4, any help appreciated.

is the fridge working ok otherwise? if so it would appear the board isnt sensing the magnet, if you look at the service bulletins on tds there is one which relates to poor magnets, there is one also for mixed up buttons on board!!!!

No complaint about fridge not working properly.
I did miss the service bulletins, thanks for drawing my attention to them, have now read them, and it appears the new magnet is for lights that don’t turn off when door is in closed position. So still stuck on this problem.
Thanks for your reply Cab

unfortunately a new board is required, light will flash mainly when compressor is running if left the supply to compressor will be lost and then obviously no cooling.

Did he go ahead with repair? is it the PCB 2262267558? I have one doing the same.

No they didn’t bother with the repair, so can’t say if the board would have cured the problem.
Mechanical stats used to be easy and cheaper to replace, 😥
