When using the main oven the appliance shuts down on a regular basis.
By shut down i mean the appliance becomes completly non functional.
Even the clock / display goes blank. By switching the oven isolator on and off it usually springs back to life. I have checked the supply from the mcb-
isolator -oven . ( electrician by trade ). The appliance is appx 4 years old .
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Normally, a total shut down would be caused by the safety thermostat on the top of the oven tripping due to an overheat situation. However, if you can switch off and on and get it running again, I’m more inclined towards some sort of timer failure – dry joints or something similar.

Is the cooling fan running? You should feel a draught running over the top of the door.

We need the full model number, BTW – serial number (9……..) would be better, as there appear to be 20 some versions of this machine.

Thanks for your help penguin 🙂
I have taken a feed from the live side of the clock to the main oven stat and all,s fine. ( must tell the wife not to use the timer 😆 )
The serial No is 20300066 and product No 944171152.
Any idea how much a new clock would cost ?
At least i no longer have to stand by the oven for 2 hours waiting to switch it back on !
