I have a 6 year old Bosch, and its been fine until recently. Now after a normal wash cycle dirty water is left in the bottom, about a 1cm above the mesh plate. I have read the post on here and removed the black rubber flap, and re-seated it. I have also checked the impellor, and that seems to spin with no obstruction. I removed the side of the machine, and the clear tubing is visible; when the machine empties the waste water can be seen moving although not that much. If I pull on the red rod at the bottom, which seems to start the machine emptying, again the waste water seems to struggle to escape. I was wondering whether there is a way of removing the bottom of the machine so I can inspect the pump – maybe there is an obstruction. Can anyone help?

    Cheers

The impellor in the base is the drain pump. Check sink coupling (if applicable), drain hose itself and finally the drain matrix on the side of the machine. All can become blocked. The matrix can be an awkward one – bits of glass can block it and are all but invisible.

There shouldn’t be any need to remove the base.

    Power off, of course.

What does the drain matrix look like?

Back part of the plastic moulding on the side.
