    I’ve just given up 😕 (after 2 hours of trying) to re-fit the door seal on my daughters machine—is a special tool required to fit the retaining spring?
    Any info would be appreciated ❗

    It takes two people……….. Someone to hold on tight (really tight) and one to drag the spring into place. You have taken the front panel off, haven’t you? Much easier.

    Thanks ‘Penguin’ for the prompt reply…..I hadn’t taken the panel off 😳 and I was on my own 😕 . I’ll try that tomorrow.

    🙂 I managed to get the spring back on OK with the help of an extra pair of hands………but 🙁 ……I think I’ve just found out why the seal came off!
    When a wash was put on there was a lot of vibration and a banging noise while spinning, I think the drum bearings are worn, there is a lot of ‘play’ on the drum. Can these be changed ‘in situ’ or does the whole drum have to be removed???
    Your advice would be appreciated again.

    Drum out I’m afraid bancro, a full strip down basically and not the nicest job in the world to be doing. 😕

    Thanks K. ……..I’ve told my daughter it will probably be best to buy a new one!!!!!!! I’ve done bearings once before on a Hoover 1100 but I had access to a Toolrroom workshop where I used to work and the toolmakers were very helpful. I think I’ll give it a miss this time.
